Position Summary:

Financial Reporting Analyst, Reporting Accounting & Finance Department

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Reporting Analyst to join our Accounting & Finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, analyzing, and delivering accurate financial reports to internal stakeholders and our external lenders, with additional focus on technical accounting and internal accounting policy development. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent Excel skills, and a thorough understanding of financial reporting standards (US GAAP).

Below is an overview of the duties and responsibilities you would take on in this role:

 

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements.
  • Support the consolidation of financial data across departments and entities to ensure accuracy.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation initiatives within reporting workflows.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and periodic review of internal accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Document key financial processes and controls through detailed flowcharts, narratives, and other supporting materials.
  • Research and interpret relevant accounting standards; prepare comprehensive technical accounting memorandums to document conclusions and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory guidance.
  • Support the annual audit by preparing required documentation and serving as a liaison with external auditors.

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • Must reside within driving distance from Indianapolis, IN or Effingham, IL.


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business or related field.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, including familiarity with internal controls framework.
    • Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Excel, Visio, Word and PowerPoint.
    • Excellent knowledge of advanced Excel features and use of reporting tool software.
    • Proficiency in navigating a financial accounting system.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks.
    • Deadline driven.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Location: This role is primarily a remote position but must have the ability to travel to the Support Office in Indianapolis, IN, as needed.
  • Travel may be required to Indianapolis or Effingham offices, expect travel to be <10% per year.

 

Desirable Qualifications:

 

  • CPA or potential to progress towards CPA
  • Knowledge or experience with Workiva / SAP ERP System is a plus.
