Job Description: SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud Administrator

 

Position Overview

The SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud Administrator is responsible for the configuration, operation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the organization’s SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring system stability, security, performance, and alignment with business processes while partnering closely with functional teams, SAP support, and implementation partners. The administrator acts as the technical steward of the SAP cloud landscape, ensuring smooth operations and enabling scalable growth. 

 

To give you an idea of the team structure, you will work on a team with Data Engineers, Data Management, and Reporting & Analytics individuals reporting to the xP&A, Data Engineer & Systems Admin Manager 

Below is an overview of the duties and responsibilities you would take on in this role:

 

System Administration & Operations 

  • Manage daytoday administration of the SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud environment, including tenant configuration, user management, and system settings. 
  • Oversee system performance, availability, and health using SAP-provided tools and dashboards. 
  • Coordinate and validate SAP quarterly release upgrades, regression testing, and new feature adoption. 
  • Evaluate new SAP features, innovations, and best practices to enhance system capabilities. 
  • Maintain system documentation, configuration records, and operational procedures. 
  • Recommend process improvements, automation opportunities, and configuration optimizations. 

Security & Compliance 

  • Administer identity and access management, including integration with corporate identity providers. 
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and data protection standards. 
  • Maintain configuration of business roles, catalogs, and authorization concepts in alignment with security policies. 
  • Manage day-to-day administration and maintenance of business users and role assignments. 
  • Monitor security alerts, apply recommended mitigations, and collaborate with SAP on security incidents. 

Support & Issue Resolution 

  • Serve as the primary technical contact for SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud incidents and service requests. 
  • Work with SAP Support (OSS) to resolve technical issues, track tickets, and ensure timely resolution. 
  • Provide Level 2/3 support to business users and functional consultants. 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • At least 2 years of experience administering SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud or SAP cloud-based applications. 
  • Strong understanding of SAP Fiori, business roles, authorization concepts, and cloud tenant administration. 
  • Familiarity with SAP Cloud ALM, SAP BTP, or related monitoring and lifecycle management tools. 
  • Knowledge of integration technologies (APIs, IDocs, OData services, middleware platforms). 
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.  
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly. 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation. 
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cloud-first environment. 

 

Desirable Qualifications: 

  • SAP S/4HANA Cloud certification (Public Edition). 
  • Experience with SAP BTP services, SAP Cloud Identity Services, or SAP Cloud Integration. 
  • Background in ITIL processes, cloud operations, or enterprise SaaS administration. 
  • Experience supporting multi-country or multi-entity SAP deployments.

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
