Position Summary:

Electronic Remittance Advice Specialist, Accounts Receivable

As an Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) Specialist, you will assist the accounts receivable (AR) team and dental offices with ERA processing, error resolutions, and process improvements as they relate to ERA claim payments. The ERA Specialist will work closely with AR, and Payor Relations teams as well as dental offices and their administrators on all areas related to the ERA process.

Early 2018, KKR became Heartland Dental’s new lead investor, With Ontario Teacher’s Pension Plan (OTTP) remaining a minority investor.  KKR’s resources and partnership have opened up many new opportunities to further advance the company’s growth. 

Below is an overview of the duties and responsibilities you would take on in this role:

  • Ensure timely posting of ERAs during the enrollment transition period for offices.
  • Provide clear communication regarding timelines of when offices will be taking ownership of individual payor ERAs.
  • Provide support and customer service to office teams on all aspects of ERA posting.
  • Manage ERA exceptions that are routed to a central parent account.
  • Provide feedback and analysis for technical solution improvements.
  • Stay abreast of current health plan and agency requirements for ERA participation.
  • Communicate appropriately with all departments involved regarding ERA payments for providers and practices.
  • Develop working relationships with our Offices, Field Administrators, Operations and Support Office teams to resolve any billing issues or denials related to ERAs and promote optimal reimbursement that results in efficiencies in the Business Assistant job duties.
  • Maintains confidentiality of provider information.
  • Other projects as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • ERA and EFT knowledge
  • Complete understanding of dental reimbursement and terminology
  • Ability to deal effectively with challenging situations
  • Great customer service skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral (includes telephone skills) and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple streams of work simultaneously using good planning, organization, multi-tasking, and prioritization in order to meet deadlines.
  • Must have sufficient working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel).
  • Must have sufficient working knowledge of CAQH, and Availity and Dental payors
  • Strong organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail.

 

Desirable Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' experience handling and processing of Dental Claims
  • Working knowledge of CAQH, and Availity and Dental payors

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
