Position Summary:

Procurement Specialist – Clinical Equipment

 

We are seeking a highly motivated, solution-oriented individual to support clinical supplies, labs and equipment purchasing as a Procurement Specialist with Heartland Dental, the #1 commercial consumer of dental supplies, equipment and lab services in the country. The Procurement Specialist supports Doctors and Teams with world-class customer service while being an advocate for trusted clinical products and labs. You must convey the importance of using trusted dental products and labs, utilize strong customer services skills, and build strong relationships; while working in support of the Heartland Dental Vision and Mission.

Heartland Dental is the nation's largest dental support organization, providing non-clinical administrative support services to more than 3,000 supported doctors across 39 states and the District of Columbia in 1,900+ dental offices. Each Heartland Dental supported office is unique to the community and the patients they serve. Supported doctors are the clinical leaders of their practice, retain full clinical autonomy, and establish their own care philosophies. This position reports to the Equipment Category Manager within the Strategic Sourcing Department.

Below is an overview of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position:

  • Partner with Operations to provide frontline support to dental offices and teams with the procurement of preferred products; serving as escalation point for issue resolution
  • Provide recommendations and support for products and equipment based on clinical needs of office, doctors, and teams
  • Advocate for usage of preferred suppliers and products; monitor offices with low utilization and work with offices to correct; provide necessary tools, resources, and reporting
  • Guide and educate supported offices in Heartland Dental systems related to ordering, budgeting, saving & inventory management, including presentations to operational customers
  • Develop and improve internal processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness of support to offices and develop/manage customer service satisfaction metrics
  • Document solutions into a shared knowledgebase to improve support and consistency in responses for supported offices
  • Lead business reviews and monitor key performance indicators for supplier performance
  • Other projects as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree OR three (3) years of experience in customer service field
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact with co-workers in a collegial manner to accomplish common tasks
  • High level of maturity, personal initiative, and sound judgment
  • Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks in a timely and responsive manner
  • Minimal overnight travel as necessary (quarterly or less)

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Dental industry experience
