Position Summary:

Staff Accountant, Accounting & Finance Department, Leasing

Below is an overview of the duties and responsibilities you would take on in this role:

  • Responsible for ensuring transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP and accounting policies
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations and analysis related to balance sheet accounts as assigned
  • Perform fluctuation analysis of expenditures on a monthly basis
  • Analyze process breaks or gaps and determine best methodology for moving forward
  • Actively assist in the development of expanded month end and quarterly checklists
  • Assist in transactional level research as needed
  • Become a subject matter expert with the various financial and analytical tools utilized by the Accounting and Finance team
  • Additional tasks to be performed as requested

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Accounting
  • In-depth understanding of US GAAP
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills – ability to identify discrepancies, perform research, and work toward resolution
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience working with balance sheet reconciliations
  • Experience with a larger GL system
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel experience

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
