Position Summary:

Invisalign Program Director  

Join Heartland Dental as a Invisalign Program Director for our Invisalign service line, a cornerstone of our $180MM annual revenue portfolio. This role is pivotal in scaling operations and driving innovation in a rapidly growing service area, handling approximately 40,000 cases annually. The successful candidate will lead efforts to increase market share by onboarding new providers and deepening engagement within our existing network of over 2,700 supported dentists across 39 states and Washington, D.C.

As part of a multi-billion-dollar organization, this role reports to the Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations and collaborates across departments to define strategic initiatives, manage cross-functional teams, and execute high-impact growth strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Define and drive a comprehensive, long-term growth strategy for the Invisalign service line, collaborating with senior executives to prioritize market opportunities, resource allocation, and competitive positioning.
    • Monitor industry trends and competitive dynamics to adjust strategies and capitalize on emerging opportunities proactively.
    • Partner with leadership to influence organizational decision-making by presenting strategic insights and business cases to the Senior Leadership Team and Board.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Lead multi-departmental workgroups, ensuring seamless execution of initiatives by aligning goals, resolving challenges, and maintaining accountability across teams.
    • Partner with marketing to design targeted campaigns and messaging that amplify adoption rates and enhance patient engagement.
    • Work with operations and strategic sourcing teams to streamline workflows, optimize resource utilization, and manage vendor relationships effectively.
    • Collaborate with clinical education teams to develop training programs that standardize best practices and improve staff proficiency in Invisalign delivery.
  • Project and Program Management:
    • Oversee multiple high-impact initiatives, tracking progress across diverse workstreams, including marketing, operations, clinical education, and financing.
    • Manage timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation to ensure projects are completed efficiently and deliver measurable business outcomes.
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation for all projects to support continuous improvement and compliance audits.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making:
    • Regularly evaluate performance metrics (KPIs) and analyze case volume, adoption rates, and operational efficiencies to identify growth opportunities and risks.
    • Leverage data to provide actionable insights and recommendations for achieving organizational objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Cultivate strong relationships with Align partners to foster collaboration and ensure alignment with their ongoing initiatives.
    • Engage directly with field operations teams to implement new processes and ensure seamless adoption by dental practices.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in operations management, project management, or strategic planning with a proven track record of managing cross-functional teams.
  • Strong ability to influence and support diverse stakeholders, driving accountability and achieving results in complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Demonstrated strategic mindset with expertise in analyzing data, developing actionable insights, and leading large-scale initiatives.
  • Entrepreneurial and results-oriented, with a passion for identifying innovative solutions to achieve growth objectives.
  • Availability to travel approximately 30% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Dental industry experience, particularly with clear aligner adoption or clinical integrations.
  • Familiarity with Heartland Dental’s systems, culture, and operational processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of Invisalign products and services.
  • Successfully managed a multi-million dollar business category for a mid-large scale organization 
  • Director-level experience leading a team and business unit.
  • Experience presenting to senior executives and managing P&L responsibilities.
