About This Office

Are you passionate about patient care and looking to join a supportive, growing team? Smart Dental of Lexington is seeking a dedicated and friendly Full-Time Dental Hygienist to join our family-focused practice.

Schedule

  • Monday – Thursday: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM | 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM
  • Note: Mondays are mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive dental hygiene care, including cleanings, scaling, and root planning as needed.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices to maintain and improve oral health.
  • Take and process digital X-rays using Nomad X-ray and Dexis software.
  • Utilize Dentrix for charting and patient management (training provided if needed).
  • Perform intraoral scans using iTero scanner to assist in treatment planning.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all OSHA and HIPAA standards.
  • Foster a positive and welcoming atmosphere for patients and team members alike.

Qualifications

  • Current Dental Hygienist license in the state of Kentucky.
  • Experience with Dentrix, iTero scanner, Nomad X-ray, and Dexis preferred, but not required—training available for the right candidate.
  • Excellent communication skills and a patient-focused attitude.
  • Detail-oriented, team-oriented, and adaptable to a dynamic environment.
  • New graduates and experienced hygienists are encouraged to apply!

Qualifications:

  • Current dental hygienist license
  • Excellent working knowledge of dentistry, dental hygiene procedures, dental patient screening and medical history documentation
  • CPR Certification

Preferred Experience

  • Experience using Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanner, digital x-rays and electronic medical record systems
  • Desire to continue learning and grow clinical skills to meet needs of patients and provide preventative care and overall maintenance of patients’ dental health
  • Clinical needs as required by office
  • Completion of Tuberculosis (TB) testing prior to starting employment
