Position Summary:

IT Prep Technician, Information Technology

 

The IT Prep Technician is primarily responsible for prepping equipment to be installed in dental offices and repairing non-functioning equipment.  This may include installations, repairs, upgrades and maintenance to hardware and software.  This position will also be responsible for setting up equipment such as laptops and iPads for supported dental offices, field administration, and the Effingham Support office locations.

With more than 1,000 dental offices supported across 37 states, over 10,000 team members and over 1,600 supported doctors in our support, Heartland Dental has a proven track record of growth and success. We’re looking for professional individuals who are open, positive and mentally flexible to join our network of support.

Below is an overview of the duties and responsibilities you would take on in this role:

  • Prep new workstations and servers by installing necessary software and applications for dental offices
  • Prep laptops by installing necessary software and applications for home office employees, field admins and dental offices.
  • Prep peripheral devices such as switches, printers, NAS boxes, iPads and SiriusXM radios by completing necessary software installation and setting changes

  • Troubleshoot and repair returned equipment to place back in to department inventory
  • Partner within prep team and Dental Office service desk to complete prep work in a timely manner
  • Manage multiple prep projects at one time and meet deadlines for repairs and shipment of equipment

Minimum Requirements:

  • Completion of one of the following: three years of IT experience OR a degree in an IT related field
  • Practical knowledge of computer and network concepts
  • Ability to physically lift 70 lbs
  • Strong organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate frequently with different departments and stakeholders
  • Ability to interact with co-workers in a collegial manner to accomplish common tasks
  • High level of maturity, personal initiative, and sound judgment

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in an IT technical role
  • Previous imaging or SCCM experience
