Position Summary:
Operations Training and Development Manager - Remote
We’re looking for a dynamic, results-driven leader to shape and elevate our Operations Training function. You will design, develop, and deliver impactful training programs that equip 1700+ operations team members with the technical and leadership skills needed to provide exceptional support to the doctors and teams we serve. From strategy to execution, you’ll manage the full training lifecycle while leading a high-performing team of training developers. Reporting to the Senior Director of Training and Development, you’ll be a key force in advancing operational excellence and fostering a culture of continuous learning across the organization.
Heartland Dental is the nation's largest dental support organization, providing non-clinical administrative support services to more than 3,000 supported doctors across 39 states and the District of Columbia in over 1,800 dental offices. Below is an overview of the duties and responsibilities you would take on in this role:
- Design and deliver scalable onboarding and development programs for operations team members
- Lead a team of training developers and program managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and growth while providing ongoing feedback, guidance, and direction to reinforce strengths, address development areas, and drive high performance
- Mentor and support team members in developing skills, expanding responsibilities, and achieving career growth goals
- Develop engaging learning content (e-learning, manuals, videos, presentations) aligned with adult learning best practices
- Facilitate both virtual and in-person sessions tailored to different roles and learning styles
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to ensure training supports business goals, system changes, and process improvements
- Oversee training for new initiatives and system rollouts, ensuring readiness and adoption
- Create assessments and certification programs to reinforce learning and measure effectiveness
- Use data and feedback to evaluate training impact and continuously improve program outcomes
- Manage team capacity, project prioritization, and training resources to meet organizational needs
- Align training efforts with strategic priorities while managing budget and logistics
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Learning and Education Studies or a related field
- 3+ years in a leadership role focused on workplace training and development
- Expertise in instructional design, adult learning theory, and needs assessment
- Proven experience leading content development teams and driving strategic training initiatives
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to design custom learning solutions using diverse instructional methods
- Familiarity with evaluation models to measure and improve training effectiveness
- A leadership style rooted in coaching, trust-building, and cross-functional collaboration
- This role is 100% remote but requires willingness to travel up to 15-20% for onsite meetings and training delivery
